Well 2019 has begun and the weather has been fair over the past few days giving me an opportunity to carry out some track bed construction on the BLL.
After a Directors meeting to discuss route planning we decided to make a slight modification to our overall route meaning we now go behind the pergola with both the up line and the down line! The whole thing being as we said at the commencement of this project 'whatever we have to do has to compliment the garden' and with the minor adjustments to route we felt we could achieve that. Hopefully no Act of Parliament required on these changes!

'Barneys Bend' on the Northern loop |
So the past few days has seen me at work with my new investment (circular saw) reducing the stress and strain and allowing me to almost complete the Northern end of the track bed. Being all raised this has meant lots of cutting and hammering. I have even included a slight 'chicane' (at the FC wish) - I just hope I have all my curves, slight inclines etc within the acceptable 16mm tolerances, we will have to wait and see. (Quick thanks to Reg and Joe in Paignton, without your 'gift' I would not have been as far forward as I am now - thank you)
Yesterday, Saturday, it was maintenance day at Buckfastleigh so I went along and assisted which mainly included sweeping up the leaves, but at least I left leaving the place looking tidy.
