End of the line - almost!

Mid week and 'we' managed to move on with preparing and protecting more timber work that will form the base board of the Southern loop over the patio and past 'Runner Bean' corner! This then takes us, once we design, build and secure a 'removable' bridge across  the path, into 'Poo Alley' (due to the large amount of bird excrement that appears from the tree above (!!) alias 'Holly Valley'  and back out North alongside the outward bound line. (These are all fictional names by the way and bear no resemblance to any known railway - save any embarrassment)!

Once the timber was cut, water protected by the use of all sorts of measures including roofing felt it was time to put them in place, albeit temporarily. The dilemma sometimes has been to felt first - or screw first!

Putting the boards in place, and not a bad fit (couple of 'bumps' to iron out), then it was put them all away for the moment as I need to consider obtaining a short amount of plastic sheeting to protect the line from the aforementioned 'Poo'. More on that later probably.

'Poo Alley"!
'Runner Bean corner - approaching the bridge

Yesterday, Saturday, we took our two steam loco's over to Buckfastleigh and ran them before taking the 'big' train down to Staverton and the beer festival which is held on the station.

All very busy but an enjoyable couple of hours where we managed to sample a couple of the guest ales before returning to Buckfastleigh by train.

Arrived home at 1730 - all puffed out!!
