Vandalism, sheer vandalism has occurred alongside the line of the BLL!!
Walking the line two mornings ago imagine my surprise and horror to find the following.....
On the BLL slow progress with the new siding but the the board and felt is now down and all secured in place so hopefully before the weather deteriorates too much I can lift the track that needs realigning and introduce the new track. This will then give me a little more flexibility on the length of trains I can run, bearing in mind I am only single track on most of the route (but who knows what the future may hold)!
Last Sunday we went to Buckfastleigh and ran on the Group garden railway, only four of us there, even with the six maximum restriction. Several visitors walking around so at least they had something to view especially as the 'big' trains are still not running due to Covid.
Highlight of the week - the BLL Financial Director approved the purchase of a new locomotive and the order was placed for a Roundhouse 'Katy', radio controlled steam locomotive - delivery due in December. So that is probably my birthday and Christmas presents (for the next 5 years) rolled up in one!!! Looking forward to that as it will be in 'signal red' livery therefore becoming the prime mover for the Sheepham Fire Brigade Rolling Stock.
So the sun is shining, the van is clean and ready for a short road trip but in the meantime it is back out in the garden and continue with the new siding.
