Another sunny morning here on the BLL.
Latest update - and the new siding is now completed ... the weather has helped - and with the current restrictions in place my 'contractor' has also been available to assist - what would I do without her skill and knowledge (!!!).
So .... new siding......
..is the one seen on the right of picture which leads into the new yard which will eventually contain an engine shed to cover the loco seen in the distance. The spur to the left of that will be the new 'Recycling Centre' (or similar) - both projects for the winter me thinks.
I also, to allow me the length of siding I required had to realign the main track (seen on the left). This meant lifting about a metre of track on the bend near the coal yard and moving it to then allow me the space for the new siding. 'Network Rail' - eat your heart out!
Once the tracks had been layed then it was a case of checking and replacing the ballast that supports the track and then the gardener came in to plant her grass/weeds, which as you can see grew very quickly!
So all done, test train successfully run with all trucks/vehicles attached.
Watch this space for more exciting episodes from the BLL.
