After a few days away in the van (Devon of course) the weather has finally changed and Autumn is upon us. With a change in the weather it was time for a little research and I found a gentlemen who will 'take a look at one of my 'Mamods' which I have attempted, and failed to get running.
You may remember I have three 'Mamod's' - as can be seen in the following picture ....
The blue one ('Pheonix') runs well but the other two are in need of some serious work - and I have to admit I do not have the knowledge or tools to take on that task. My skill is also debatable!
So, after speaking to Roy at 'Roy Wood Models' I packed up '311' .... and parcelled her off to Dorset where Roy will now assess the possibilities. ['312' is long past repair and will remain as a permanent display outside on the BLL].
'311' currently flashes up using fuel 'pellets' but if after some tests it is deemed worthwhile then 'we' will convert her to gas which at least means, hopefully, she will more readily hold pressure and be 'greener' and cleaner to run!! Or not!
So for me it is back to the engine shed as I still have a line side building to complete and with a 'new' tunnel portal on order I have to design my tunnel which will take me through the fence into next doors garden! (Hypothetically speaking that is)!
